Featured Projects: Site Preparation/Civil Contracting

Damaze Civil & Municipial Infrastructure Contracting Division Completed the site preparation for a Townhouse Development in Surrey, British Columbia for The Maskeen Group. Working on a FAST-TRACK CONSTRUCTION, site preparation project ,on a tight site layout presented a number of unique challenges, however Damaze innovative project planning team have come away from this project with valuable experiences which is being applied to similar projects currently underway with remarkable results The original civil off-sites design called for the HORIZONTAL DIRECTIONAL DRILLING (HDD) OF 60m of a 250mm HDPE storm sewer main and 60M of 200mm HDPE sanitary sewer main through a 3.1 M wide easement located between existing homes in the area, to manhole connections on Carluke Crescent. However our HDD team lost several drill tools before entering the easement and excavations for the retrieval of these lost drill tools revealed the presence of large boulders in the drill path. Damaze project and construction teams provided a full range of services on the Paradise Lane Development project, including Clearing & Grubbing, Horizontal Directional Drilling HDD, Storm and Sanitary Sewers, Waterworks, Roadworks, Underground utilities, service connetions, inspections and testing, asphalt and concrete paving. Paradise Lane Development-The last remaining Off-sites Alternative, an OPEN CUT through the easement.

Upon consultation with the geotechnical engineers a decision was made to abandon HDD due to the existing ground conditions.
Damaze project team performed VALUE ENGINEERING Studies of an alternative method to HDD the alternatives considered was the GUIDED AUGER BORING of a 1050mm steel casing through the easement to carry the storm and sanitary sewers mains thruogh the easement to Carluke Crescent
The GUIDED AUGER BORING alternative was ruled out and the only remaining alternative, an OPEN CUT through the easement had to be considered.
DAMAZE PRE-CONSTRUCTION TEAM had consultation with all the stake holders involved in an open cut through the easement and a Restoration Memorandum was negotiated by Damaze Project Team on behalf of The Maskeen Group resulting in permission to OPEN CUT through the easement. PHOTO GALLERY.
DAMAZE on-sites work on the project included on-site storm and sanitary sewers, domestic and fire waterworks, water meter chamber assembly instillation and testing , roadworks, service connections to all building units, Hydro Tel and CCTV underground services.
